Delete your Codewaala account

1. In the Codewaala app

1. Open the app and sign in.
2. Tap Me. Under Your data, your choice, tap Delete my account.
3. Enter your password, type DELETE, and tap Delete my account.

School students see "Your school manages your account" here instead. See section 4.

2. On the website

1. Sign in at codewaala.com/account.
2. Scroll to Delete my account, enter your password and confirm.

3. Without signing in

If you can't sign in, or you no longer have the app, send an erasure request through the grievance & rights request form or email grievance@codewaala.com from the email address on the account. Tell us your name and your username or email. You get a ticket number, and we may ask you to confirm it's really you before we delete anything.

4. Children and school students

• Independent students under 18: a parent or guardian can delete the account in the same ways, or write to us from the parent email that approved the account.
• School students (school code, username and PIN): ask your teacher or principal. They can remove a student from the school dashboard. A parent can also write to us directly.

5. What gets deleted, and what we keep

• Deleted: your profile (name, email, phone, date of birth, school name), parent details, sign-in details and sessions, learning progress, CodeBattles solves and points, consent choices and usage counters.
• Kept, in minimised form: payment records for 8 years (GST and accounting law), and grievance or rights requests for 3 years after closure, as our Privacy Notice explains.
• We keep a one-way hashed "tombstone" and the date of deletion, so we can prove the deletion happened. It can't be turned back into your identity.

Deleting from the app or the website takes effect straight away. A request made by email or form is completed within 30 days.
